Albania: Tave Kosi

An Albanian lamb, rice and yogurt dish.

Ok y’all, I had my doubts about this one- lamb mixed with yogurt?? Sounds kinda strange, right? But believe me when I tell you: not only is this one was SO yummy, but it also has minimal ingredients and was SO easy to make.

Tave Kosi, also known as Tave Elbasani after an Albanian city, is a very popular “comfort food” in the country. And it’s easy to see why- the tender, garlicky lamb and rice topped with a yummy egg and yogurt mixture is somehow light and fluffy, while also being quite filling!
